The Level 1 Bible Guide is the core of Reading and Writing Through the Bible for new readers, typically including first and second graders. It is a 70-week program that uses the stories and passages of The Complete Illustrated Children’s Bible© to guide discussion and further practice reading and writing skills. Throughout the week, the reading plan includes three chronological stories, a passage based on a Psalm, Proverb, or epistle, and finally, selected Scripture(s) from the full version of the Bible of parent or teacher choice to study various topics, such as the character of God and who we are in Christ. The Level 1 Bible Guide provides vocabulary with definitions, new words to read, usually three to four discussion questions, and copywork verses. The answers to the discussion questions are designed for students to easily copy into an age-appropriate lined notebook (sold separately).
