The Level 1 Phonics & Dictation Workbook Student Manual provides the practice necessary for early readers to progress in reading and writing phonetic-based and common words. Students will learn how to recognize and mark long and short vowels and letter teams with special sounds. They will also learn how to audibly hear a word and spell it phonetically. The Level 1 Phonics & Dictation Workbook Teacher Manual (sold separately) provides the key and dictation notes for helping guide the students through the material.
 
This is one component of our Reading and Writing Through the Bible Level 1 curriculum (of 4 levels total). It is a two-year language arts and discipleship program that first and second-graders can do together with both mastery and cyclical learning components and phonics and whole word recognition focuses. The Phonics & Dictation Workbook and Language & Common Word Workbook are offered as student manuals and teacher manuals. The Supplementary Phonics Stories provide weekly practice with the reading and writing concepts covered thus far in the workbooks. The Level 1 Alphabet, Common Words, and Phonics Flashcards play integral parts in this level as well. The Level 1 Bible Guide provides discipleship and further reading and writing practice.
