The Level 1 Phonics Supplementary Stories provide stories for early readers that are uplifting, encouraging, and family-centered. Many include Scripture as well. This resource incorporates the lessons of the Level 1 Phonics & Dictation Workbook and Language & Common Word Workbook. With the exception of a few new words to introduce before each story, all the words of each story will have phonics vowel sounds and letter teams and common words that have been covered thus far in the workbooks. The goal is for these stories to be an exercise in learning the new concepts and reviewing the previous ones.
 
This is one component of our Reading and Writing Through the Bible Level 1 curriculum (of 4 levels total). It is a two-year language arts and discipleship program that first and second-graders can do together with both mastery and cyclical learning components and phonics and whole word recognition focuses. The Phonics & Dictation Workbook and Language & Common Word Workbook are offered as student manuals and teacher manuals. The Level 1 Alphabet, Common Words, and Phonics Flashcards play integral parts in this level as well. The Level 1 Bible Guide provides discipleship and further reading and writing practice.
